What it found
A double-blind, placebo-controlled trial testing whether low-dose rapamycin extends lifespan and healthspan in older companion dogs. Results are not yet published — we will not characterize an outcome that does not exist.
Why it matters
This is the definitive trial the field is waiting on. It is the largest randomized test of a longevity drug ever run in companion animals, and its readout will set the standard of evidence for everything that follows.
How much weight this carries
Human trials exist but are mixed or early-stage; the mechanism is well characterized.
