What it found
The FDA's veterinary center accepted that there is a reasonable expectation of effectiveness for a daily drug intended to extend the lifespan of senior dogs — a milestone on the conditional-approval path, not a full approval.
Why it matters
The first time a regulator has formally entertained canine lifespan extension as a legitimate drug indication. Whatever the outcome, it establishes that 'longevity' can be a regulated veterinary endpoint rather than a marketing word.
